The whole house is yours

Yours for the vows, for dinner and for the last dance.

A Georgian manor in the English countryside, kept for one wedding at a time: the two of you and up to 100 of your people.

Ashden Manor from above: a pale stone Georgian house with wisteria on its walls, wedding guests gathered on the lawn and fields rolling away behind.
A couple run hand in hand down a tree-lined path at golden hour, her dress catching the low sun.

Nobody else checks in

Exclusive use means exactly that. From the moment you arrive until the evening party ends, the manor, the gardens and the dining room belong to you and your guests.

A vintage green car with ‘Just Married’ bunting drives out between stone gateposts, towards open fields.

If you’re weighing it against a hotel

  • Who else is there

At a hotelOther guests checking in, crossing the lobby and sharing the bar.

At AshdenNobody. The house is closed to everyone but your guests.

  • Getting ready

At a hotelA guest room upstairs, then a walk past reception in your outfit.

At AshdenA private dressing room in the house, yours for the whole day.

  • The rest of the day

At a hotelYour wedding in one function room, someone else’s party in the next.

At AshdenCeremony, dinner and evening party under one roof, and all of it yours.

How the day moves through the house

From getting ready to the last dance, the whole day happens under one roof, so nobody waits for a coach and nothing about it feels rushed.

  1. A bride in white satin stands on a chair singing into a hairbrush while friends in pink robes cheer her on.

    The dressing room

It’s private and it’s yours from the start of the day, so getting ready can be as calm or as loud as you like. Nobody knocks to say they need the room back.

  2. A couple in a dark wood-panelled room with a carved, pedimented doorway, both looking towards the light from a tall window.

    The ceremony room

You’ll say your vows indoors, in the ceremony room, so the weather never gets a say in the most important part of the day.

  3. A bride laughs as she pours champagne over a tower of coupes in the garden, the groom cheering beside her.
A stone fountain filled with ice and bottles of champagne, on gravel beside clipped box hedges.

    The gardens

Then everyone spills out into the gardens for drinks and photographs, and the first proper breath of the day. Ashden is pet-friendly, so nobody in the family has to miss the pictures.

Dinner, cooked by people who work here

Food is a big part of what we do, and all of it is done in-house.

The team cooking your dinner know the house, the dining room and the shape of your day. They aren’t unloading a van that afternoon and meeting the building for the first time. Dinner is served in the Georgian dining room.

Guests raise champagne coupes across a candlelit table set with cut glass and white flowers.
Guests help themselves from platters of new potatoes, tenderstem broccoli and roast meat along a long candlelit table.
Canapés on slate: cured salmon on spoons and crisp pastry cups piped with a creamy filling.
Toasted bruschetta topped with soft white cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes, herb oil and black sesame.

Is a hundred guests enough?

Lots of couples ask us this. We think it’s exactly the right number.

A hundred sounds small until you’re in the room. It’s enough to fill the house with noise, and few enough that you’ll talk to every guest and the kitchen can look after every plate.

Then the evening party

As the light goes, dinner gives way to dancing. The house is still yours: your music, your people, and nobody else’s wedding through the wall.

A couple kiss at night beneath an arch of sparklers held up by their guests.
A bride dances with her arms out among friends, under chandeliers blurred into streaks of warm light.

What will it cost?

You need a number to plan around, so we won’t make you wait for one.

Tell us roughly when and how many guests, and we’ll reply with a real figure for your day, not a brochure.
